Over het merk

Kupu Kupu (betekent 'Vlinder' in het Bahasa Indonesisch) is opgericht door Puck. Puck woont al jaren op Bali en tijdens de pandemie merkte ze hoeveel lokale bewoners het financieel moeilijk hadden door het uitblijven van toeristen. Toen ze Putu ontmoette, een kledingontwerpster, besloten de twee samen te werken aan een merk dat de lokale kledingindustrie een boost kon geven.

Milieuvriendelijk: Kupu Kupu maakt gebruik van milieuvriendelijkere stoffen. Zo zijn de items bijvoorbeeld gemaakt van EcoVero, linnen en Tencel. Ze produceren in kleine batches om zo overproductie tegen te gaan.

Eerlijke productie: Kupu Kupu noemt zichzelf een gemeenschapsmerk. Ze werken samen met ambachtslieden over het hele eiland om hun stukken te maken. Ze hebben ook een winkel op het eiland, waar je de items in het echt kunt shoppen.
